According to The Mandate for Leadership document, Hans A. von Spakovsky is the “Senior Legal Fellow and Manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative in the Edwin Meese Center III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation”’. This center works to promote conservative ideas and policies related to law and justice.

Additionally, according to The Mandate document, von Spakovsky was part of the Federal Election Commission from 2006 to 2007, and before that served as a Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the Dept. of Justice for several years.

Von Spakovsky was also a member of Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity (PACEI), which is also known as the Voter Fraud Commission. He is well known for expressing concerns over election fraud personally. According to a government report by Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap, the PACEI was disbanded in 2018 by Trump, and was sued by Secretary Dunlap for violating the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). Secretary Dunlap stated that he had found that “contrary to what we were promised, these documents show that there was, in fact, a pre-ordained outcome to this commission to demonstrate widespread voter fraud, without any evidence to back it up”. After the lawsuit was started, Trump had disbanded the commission instead of complying with the resulting court order to provide documents.
