The proposed policy aims to gut the flexibility and responsiveness of our agricultural system, directly harming marginalized farmers and rural communities. Minority and immigrant farmers, already grappling with systemic barriers, will find it increasingly difficult to sustain their livelihoods. Children in low-income families will see their food security threatened, their futures compromised. Furthermore, these draconian measures will lead to increased food prices and decreased availability, driving more families into poverty and creating a ripple effect that damages the entire economy. By preventing the USDA from addressing these challenges head-on, Project 2025 places corporate profits over human lives and sacrifices public health on the altar of so-called “efficiency.”
