“Eliminate ARPA-E [Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy]. The next Administration should work with Congress to eliminate ARPA-E. The agency is unnecessary, risks taxpayer dollars, and interferes with risk-benefit decisions that should be made by the private sector.” (General Welfare, Dept. of Energy, Page 385)

Eliminating ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy) will hinder the development of innovative energy technologies that are crucial for addressing climate change and transitioning to a sustainable energy future. ARPA-E funds high-risk, high-reward projects that the private sector may not invest in due to the uncertainty of returns. This will disproportionately affect marginalized communities who are often the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and energy insecurity. Additionally, it will stifle economic opportunities in emerging green industries, affecting job creation and economic growth.
